


Conductor
Chi-Sun Chan, a native of Hong Kong, received his Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and Master of Music from The Boston Conservatory. He was appointed by the Taipei Kiwanis Band as a music director and also by many schools in Taipei as a brass instructor. As a tuba player, Mr. Chan has performed with various distinguished organizations such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Hong Kong Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Boston, the Hingham Symphony Orchestra, the Concord Orchestra, and the Royal Brass. His concert appearances include Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Symphony Hall (of Boston). As a soloist, Mr. Chan was invited by The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra Affiliated Youth Band to be a featured soloist. He also gave a lecture recital at the 2003 Northeastern Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference at the University of Massachusetts. Recently, his arrangement of Chinese music, called “Guzheng Suite” (for tuba and guzheng), has been recorded by his former teacher John Manning into his soon-to-be-released solo album. In 2002, Mr. Chan was appointed to be the conductor of the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association Chinese Music Ensemble (GBCCA Chinese Music Ensemble). Currently, Mr. Chan is pursuing a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in brass performance at Boston University.
Ensemble Director
Tai-Chun Pan works as a software engineer at Cisco Systems Incorperated. He was the first prize winner in the Taipei Chinese Music Instrumental Competition (in the wind instrument division), and played Dizi in the Cheng-Feng Chinese Music Orchestra of Taipei. Currently, Mr. Pan is the director of the GBCCA Chinese Music Ensemble.
Youth Ensemble Director
Tung-Mei Pan is the current director of he GBCCA Youth Chinese Music Ensemble. She also serves on the administrative committee for the New England Chinese Youth Summer Camp.
